Your Evening at the Montana Dinner Yurt

Summer | Montana Dinner Yurt

Your evening begins with check-in at the Snowcrest Building at Big Sky Resort’s Mountain Village at 6:30pm. Once everyone is accounted for, we will transport you on a scenic 15-minute ride to our secluded yurt. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by miraculous mountain views, and 360 degrees of Montana Wilderness. You enter the yurt and live acoustic guitar music sets the mood as you settle in for a memorable dining experience.

The dinner bell rings, signaling the start of your culinary journey. The exquisite dinner starts with a fresh salad & warm bread, followed by our main course consisting of a tender filet mignon with peppercorn sauce (some say it cuts with a spoon!), garlic mashed potatoes, and sautéed veggies, and finishes with warm Toblerone chocolate fondue with fresh fruit and pound cake for dessert. The relaxed atmosphere allows for stargazing and socializing by the fire, making for a truly enchanting evening. The event typically lasts three-and-a-half hours, with a return ride to the Summit Hotel between 9:30 and 10pm.

Location and Check-In

Montana Summer Beauty

The Montana Dinner Yurt is nestled in a secluded spot on the flanks of Lone Peak at Big Sky Resort. Guests are required to check-in, located upstairs in the Snowcrest Building near the Snowsports School at 6:30pm sharp. The Snowcrest Building is closest to lifts in the Base area, directly in front of Basecamp. There are ticket windows, Yeti Dogs, and the rental shop on the first floor of the building. We are in the back, on the second floor directly on the ski slope. Parking is available at the base of Big Sky, ensuring easy access. From there, you will embark on a 15-minute ride to our private backcountry location, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

What To Bring

To ensure you are well-prepared for your overall experience and allow you to fully enjoy the magical ambiance of dining under the Big Sky, we recommend the following.

Layer Up

We recommend bringing multiple layers of clothing – even on the hottest nights in Montana, it cools down quick in the mountains once the sun goes down. If you get too warm, you can always shed a jacket.

Alcohol Policy

While we do not sell or provide alcohol, guests are welcome to bring their own beer or wine. Please note that consumption of alcohol is at your own risk, and you must be 21 or older to drink. We have wine openers available at the yurt.
